Campbell CA Information

Originally an orchard land, Campbell is now a quiet rural and urban neighborhood situated in the county of Santa Clara and has an approximate population of 40,000.  It was founded in 1887 and incorporated in 1952 as a city.  Its total land area is 5.6 square miles. 

E-bay, an American Internet Company where you can buy or sell goods around the world, call Campbell its original home.  A 250,000 square foot shopping center, the Pruneyard Shopping Center, built in 1964, is also located in this town.  There are museums in the city.  The Campbell Historical Museum situated in the first Fire House of the city.  It shows its history through artifacts and memorabilia.   The Ainsley House, one of the grandest homes in Santa Clara Valley and home of the canning pioneer, John Ainsley and his wife Alcinda, from 1925 until the death of John in 1937.  It was donated by the Ainsley granddaughters to the city in 1978 to be used as a historical museum which features its original furnitures.

California State Highway 17, California State Route 85, and the San Tomas Expressway or Santa Clara County Route G4 is the major roads that serve Campbell. 

A single family home’s average price is at about $750,000. Apartments, condos, duplexes are found in some areas of Campbell.  The mean family household income is at a little over $93,000 and the per capita income at over $34,000.

Because of its low property taxes, new office buildings, low and affordable business license fees, and its proximity to Silicon Valley, Campbell is the perfect location for new business ventures.

Public school children go to schools operated by the Campbell Union Elementary School District and the Campbell Union High School District.  Three of the six high schools are Distinguished Schools and one has received the National Blue Ribbon honor.
