Nevada CA Real Estate
Nevada County CA has a total land area of 958 square miles and a population of 98,394 residents. It is bordered by the State of Nevada in the east and 3 other California counties around it. The county is within driving distance from Sacramento, Reno, and Tahoe. The county seat is located in Nevada City, considered as the “Queen of the Northern Mines.” It is one of the friendliest, liveliest, and most colorful of all California Gold Rush towns.
In recent years, the Nevada County lifestyle has attracted artists, writers, musicians, retirees and other people who are looking for a break from the pressures brought about by big city living. These people have been enamored by the county’s quaint and historic real estate options, which is considered as one of the best preserved in the West. Aside from its gold rush appeal, Nevada County is also a land of pristine rivers, rolling valleys, breathtaking mountains, and unlimited recreational activities.
Equally unlimited is the county’s real estate options. Lakefront, lake view, and lake access properties along the county’s numerous lakes has remained a popular choice through the years. The historic old town appeal of Nevada City and Grass Valley real estate are also among the top choices. The town of Rough and Ready, meanwhile, provides an ideal country living while being reasonably close to metropolitan areas.
Providing contrast to the traditional gold rush appeal of Nevada County are the communities of Alta Sierra and Lake Wilwood. At an elevation of around 2,000ft., Alta Sierra is nestled among the oaks, pines, and cedars of the Sierra Nevada. It was developed sometime in the 1960s as “lot-sale only” parcels. Structures were erected more recently and this accounts for the many fine homes available on the resale market. Lake Wilwood, on the other hand, is a gated community nestled somewhere between an elevation of 1,208ft – 1580ft of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Among its amenities are a 24-hour security patrol, a 300 acre lake, 65 acres of parks and greenery, an 80 slip marina with a launching ramp, a marina clubhouse, a swimming pool, 6 tennis courts (of which 2 are lighted), and an 18-hole golf course with a driving range and a Pro Shop.
Located along Sierra Nevada in the Mother Lode Country of the State of California, the County of Nevada has both glorious and interesting history. Created in 1851 from parts of Yuba County, the county, interestingly, took the form of a pistol aimed at the State of Nevada. Local legends say that the county’s early inhabitants got angry with the State of Nevada for copying their county’s name, and the county’s physical shape should attest to their resentment of their neighboring state. Just like the other mother lode counties in the State of California, Nevada has experienced its share of prosperity during the gold rush. Its economy is now highly dependent on over 50 high-tech and applied-tech companies, and more than 1,000 hardware and software design and development professionals residing within its borders. With all the modern developments taking place within its jurisdiction, Nevada County is sometimes being referred to as the “Silicon Valley of the Sierras.”Truckee Real Estate
